RCCBs Type HP

Type B-HP residual current

Regulation 531.3.3(iv) Tripping on:

  • 50Hz sinusoidal AC
  • Pulsating DC
  • Smooth DC
  • Residual currents < 20kHz

Note: : Type B-HP RCDs are for use in circuits powering
inverter controlled Heat Pumps.
They must not be connected downstream of Type AC*, A or F RCDs.
*Pre 18th Edition installations may contain Type AC RCDs

** Type HP has built-in transient resistance and short delay <13ms to prevent unwanted
tripping associated with inverter / compressor starting and stopping.
