Locations such as swimming pools, agriculture, printing works, paint shops, horticultural, sewage treatment, mariners etc. produce noxious and corrosive gases which can affect the operation of electrical products – see Regulation 132.4. Even high quality RCCB tripping mechanisms can be susceptible to corrosion when mounted in this type of environment, which could result in the device not tripping when required to.
